Pension Choices

‘THE TROUBLE WITH RETIREMENT IS THAT YOU NEVER GET A DAY OFF’ ABE LEMONS

We all want choice in life, whether that’s over where we shop, what we wear, and where to send our children to school – and pensions are no different.

When it comes to pension choices, there are a vast range to choose from.

As is often the case, with so much choice it’s hard to know where to start. Pensions are a maze and the legislation affecting them has changed dramatically in recent years, which on the one hand has resulted in giving you more choice and flexibility, but on the other has made it all the more important for you to seek professional advice on what pension options are best for you.

What pension choices are available?

There at a number which you might wish to consider:

  • A personal pension
  • A SIPP (a self-invested personal pension)
  • A SSAS (a small self-administered scheme), available if you are the owner or director of a limited company

If you are employed, you will be enrolled in a workplace pension, or you may have an alternative company pension scheme, but some form of personal pension as well will increase your income in retirement.

At Hartsfield, we work in partnership with you to establish a pension that not only delivers the income your desire when you retire, or when you decide to draw an income, but is flexible enough to be used as a potential investment tool.
