If you are the main, or sole, breadwinner in your family, and you should fall ill, have you thought about how your family will manage?
If illness is short-lived, then it’s likely you’ll cope – we can all cut down a little in the short-term. But what if you develop a critical illness, which means you can no longer work? Would you and your family be able to manage with the support of State benefits and any savings you have?
What is critical illness cover?
Critical illness cover is an insurance policy which will pay out, should you develop a specific illness which is on a predetermined list outlined in the policy.
Critical illness insurance may pay out a lump sum, or a regular income, or both, depending on how it is structured. The policy may also require you to survive a certain number of days from the date of diagnosis, typically around 14 days.
It won’t surprise you to learn, there are many providers and many forms of critical illness cover to choose from.
Why not call the team at Hartsfield and we can help you decide which is best for you and your family?
